If a recording made with the NeetoRecord web recorder has no sound, it is usually because of one of these two reasons.
1. Your browser does not have microphone permission
When you start a recording for the first time, your browser asks for permission to use your camera and microphone. If this was blocked (or dismissed), NeetoRecord cannot capture audio.
To fix this in Chrome:
Click the lock/tune icon on the left side of the address bar.
Find Microphone and set it to Allow.
Reload the page and start your recording again.
In other browsers (Safari, Firefox, Edge), open the browser's site settings/preferences for the NeetoRecord page and allow microphone access.
Also make sure your browser itself has microphone access at the system level:
macOS: System Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone — enable it for your browser.
Windows: Settings → Privacy & security → Microphone — enable it for your browser.
2. Your system microphone is muted or the wrong input is selected
Even with browser permission granted, no audio will be captured if your system's microphone (internal audio input) is muted or its input volume is set to zero.
macOS: Go to System Settings → Sound → Input, select the correct microphone, and make sure the input volume is up. Speak and watch the input level meter move.
Windows: Go to Settings → System → Sound → Input, select the correct microphone, and check that it is not muted.
If you use an external headset or mic, check its physical mute button/switch.
Once this is fixed, your recordings should capture audio.
Recommended: use the Chrome extension or desktop app
We recommend recording with the Chrome extension or the desktop app, because they let you choose your microphone (and camera) before you start recording — so you can confirm the right device is selected instead of relying on the browser's default.
